Preparing for legal succession

Mentoring and first pleadings

Young lawyer or mentor in the making? On August 28, join us for an online lunchtime conference (12:30 to 2:00 p.m.) and discover concrete tips for your first pleadings and litigation debut.

When starting out in the profession, there's no substitute for the advice of a mentor. The transition from theory to practice is often a vertiginous leap for young lawyers.

  • How can experienced lawyers effectively support the next generation?
  • How to prepare for a first pleading?
  • What are the pitfalls to avoid, the reflexes to adopt, and the tools to manage stage fright?

In this discussion moderated by Sébastien Girard, Joël Larouche and Marc-André Landry will share their experience, their successes (and failures), and best practices for supporting and guiding young professionals in their early days.

Mentoring at the heart of the profession
Mentoring is much more than a transfer of skills: it's an act of professional solidarity and a powerful lever for the development of the next generation of lawyers. Encouraging experienced lawyers to take young people under their wing means investing in a stronger, more humane and more sustainable legal community. This conference will highlight how to foster a mentoring culture within firms and the profession.

Essential training for :

  • young lawyers embarking on their litigation career,
  • but also experienced lawyers wishing to pass on their knowledge and build the next generation.

Join us for a frank, concrete and inspiring conversation about this key moment in any legal career.
