28th Annual Dinner at Maison du Père by the JBM!

On December 12th, the Pro Bono Legal Services Committee of the Jeune Barreau de Montréal organized its 28th edition of the "Souper à la Maison du Père," a charitable initiative aimed at supporting the users of this organization. Many volunteers, including members of the JBM and the judiciary, came together to generously offer their time.

Young lawyers and members of the judiciary united to assist over 300 users, engaging with them over a hot meal. A free legal clinic was set up on-site, staffed by volunteer young lawyers.

We would also like to express our gratitude to Catherine Claveau, bâtonnière of Quebec, for her participation in this event.

Maison du Père is dedicated to helping people in precarious situations. Each day, it welcomes nearly 150 disadvantaged individuals by providing hygiene services, meals, and much more. Thanks to community support, Maison du Père is not just a shelter for food and rest, but also a place of reference and social reintegration. It offers various forms of accommodation, including housing for seniors without stable housing. The facility also has a team dedicated to helping people maintain housing and avoid returning to the streets, along with a primary care service that includes a convalescence and palliative care wing, bridging the gap between the healthcare system and people in social isolation.
