28th JBM Father's House Dinner!
On December 12, the Pro Bono Legal Services Committee of the Young Bar of Montreal organized its 28th annual Father's House Dinner, a charitable initiative in support of the organization's users. Numerous volunteers from the JBM and the judiciary mobilized to give generously of their time.
The young lawyers and members of the judiciary joined forces to help more than 300 users, exchanging ideas with them over a hot meal. A free legal clinic was set up on site, staffed by volunteer young lawyers.
We are also grateful to Catherine Claveau, Bâtonnière du Québec, for her participation in this event.
La Maison du Père is committed to helping people in precarious situations. Every day, it welcomes nearly one hundred and fifty underprivileged people, offering them hygiene services, meals and much more. Thanks to the support of the community, the Maison du Père is more than just a refuge for food and rest. It is a place of reference and social reintegration, offering a variety of accommodation options, including a residence for homeless seniors. It also has a team dedicated to maintaining housing to avoid a return to the street, as well as an outreach care service, including a convalescence and palliative care wing, to create a link between the healthcare system and people in situations of social disaffiliation.
We invite you to take a look back at our 27th Father's House Dinner, held on February 21.
Thanks to all members of the Magistrature and the JBM for their generous participation, and to our sponsors, Les Aliments Cardinal, Les producteurs et productrices acéricoles du Québec, Le Syndicat des éleveurs de porcs de Lanaudière-Outaouais-Laurentides, la Fédération des producteurs d'oeufs du Québec and Premiere Moisson!
