Legal and ethical challenges facing newly elected officials

From Montreal to Saguenay, by way of Saint-Jérôme, mayors and municipal councillors are making headlines because of electoral law and their ethical obligations. Whether before the Municipal Commission or the Chief Electoral Officer, elected officials have to navigate a turbulent political landscape with care. A brief overview of recent decisions affecting elected officials in Quebec's small and large cities, and how to advise and defend them.
