28th JBM Father's House Dinner!
Renewed solidarity
On December 17th, the Pro Bono Committee of the Young Bar of Montreal (YBM) organized the 29th edition of the "Souper à la Maison du Père," an annual event that highlights the legal community’s commitment to the users of this organization.
For this edition, a large group of volunteers, composed of young lawyers and members of the judiciary, came together to offer their support. The volunteers welcomed nearly 200 users to the Maison du Père, sharing a warm moment over a festive meal. Simultaneously, a free legal clinic, provided by volunteer lawyers, allowed participants to receive personalized legal advice.
The Maison du Père plays an essential role for its users, individuals facing precarious situations. Every day, it offers refuge and essential services to those in need: meals, shelter, healthcare, and support toward social reintegration. With its range of services, including a residence for homeless seniors and a palliative care wing, it stands as a pillar of support and hope for those navigating challenging times.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Me Catherine Claveau, Bâtonnière of Quebec, for her active participation, as well as to all the volunteers, lawyers, judges, partners, and sponsors who contributed.
Among them, we especially thank Nortera and the Québec Processed Vegetable Producers, the Québec Maple Producers, the Lanaudière-Outaouais-Laurentides Pork Producers’ Union, Première Moisson, and Kazuko Services, whose generosity enabled the distribution of essential products in Christmas stockings.
A big thank you to everyone who, through their involvement, brought assistance to the users. Together, we make a difference.
We look forward to seeing you next year to continue this beautiful tradition of solidarity!
