The Legal.IT 2022 Conference - 15th edition: an engaging virtual experience, a high-quality conference

TECHNOLOGY AND ITS VITAL IMPORTANCE IN THE LEGAL WORLD

Montreal, March 10, 2021 - The Young Bar Association of Montreal announces the return of the Legal.IT Conference for its 15th edition on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April1. For the second year running, this event will be held 100% virtually via an interactive platform. This event, now recognized as one of Canada's leading conferences on the impact of information technology and its potential for the law, will once again feature over thirty speakers. Official program available and registration now open!

"Legal IT is an essential meeting place for all lawyers wishing to keep abreast of the latest technological developments and their application in a legal context, and this 15th edition proves it all the more. The JBM is proud to be able to offer such a rich and diversified program, which we are convinced will personally and professionally enrich all participants" Mathieu Jacques, President of the JBM.

"The Legal.IT conference is a crossroads of ideas and people gravitating around law, technology, and the business reality that can't get enough of both. This year, we're back in the virtual realm with hot topics like cybersecurity, NFTs, influencers, the metaverse, and 21st century gold; depending on which side you're on: data or bitcoin. We're hosting a face-to-face closing cocktail party for the first time since 2019, and look forward to seeing you again! " Nareg Froundjian, administrator of the Comité Technologies de l'Information (CTI), which oversees the organization of the event.

This year, the JBM is pleased to announce the participation of Eloïse Gratton, Partner and National Co-Head of Privacy at BLG, as guest of honour. Eloïse Gratton will be joined by Mathieu Jacques, President of the JBM and CAIJ, official partner in legal information, for the Welcome Remarks. The schedule, adapted for the virtual event, will be spread over two fore-afternoons for the conferences. This will be followed by networking dinners and interactive workshops in the afternoon.

A custom-designed interactive platform

Each participant will be able to build a customized program throughout the event, consult the profiles of speakers, moderators and other attendees, and interact via messages or videos with exhibitors present. The platform will be active until April 22, 2022, and will offer the opportunity to view content representing up to 11 hours of high value-added continuing education.

Consult the official program and register

For the first time since 2019, the event's closing cocktail reception will be held in person from 5.30pm on Friday, April1. Participants will be able to meet up in a friendly environment that's conducive to exchanges. Stay tuned for the location of our trendy Cocktail!
