JBM Announces Firm Start-Up Grant Recipients: Heritt Avocats Inc. family, immigration and civil law firm

The Young Bar Association of Montreal (JBM) was delighted to announce the recipients of the Firm Start-Up Grant on December 2 at the JBM "Leaders of Tomorrow" Gala. The Heritt Avocats Inc. firm of SuzanneTaffot andAbla Kekeli Maglo stood out thanks to the excellence of its application, and was awarded over $20,000 in cash, products and services.

Me Suzanne Taffot andMe Abla Kekeli Maglo have combined their passion and determination to launch their family, immigration and civil law practice. Their practice focuses primarily on family, immigration and civil law. Heritt Avocats Inc. also strives to be a firm that is involved in its community, inclusive and willing to participate in the development and training of future lawyers from diverse cultural communities. It was the professionalism of their plan, the business vision and the firm's values that won unanimous approval from the members of the Jury, made up ofMe Extra Junior Laguerre, Bâtonnier de Montréal et avocat à son compte chez Laguerre Fiscaliste,Me Maryse Bélanger, Supervisor of Professional Quality / Professional Inspection at the Quebec Bar, , M. Daniel Lefebvre, Senior Director of Strategic Partnership Development at Espace Proprio, Jean-Philippe Tassé-Trottier, Director of Finance at Logibec and Mathieu Jacques, President of JBM.

Speaking at the unveiling, SuzanneTaffot said: "This award means a great deal to all of us, of course, but it's really about much more than money. Behind this award, we see a form of recognition, which we truly appreciate, but above all, we hope that it will give hope and confidence to all the young lawyers who look like us."

The JBM Firm Start-Up Grant Program is designed to promote entrepreneurship among young lawyers and support the next generation of legal professionals. It aims to encourage creativity and best practices in law, as well as job creation and financial autonomy for young lawyers, by helping them realize their plans to start a firm offering legal advisory services. It is also intended to encourage lawyers to stay in practice by helping them carry out firm start-up projects in the judicial district of Montreal.
