The JBM unveils its elected representatives for the 2023-2024 term of office
The Young Bar Association of Montreal (hereinafter " JBM") is proud to announce the results of the elections for the 2023-2024 term. After a rigorous election process, the JBM is pleased to welcome the newly elected members of its Board of Directors.
15 newly elected officials officially take office
Me Joey Suri, of Gowling WLG, andMe Marie Flambard, of Bernard-Roy (Justice Québec), will assume the roles of president and vice-president of the Jeune Barreau de Montréal respectively. The JBM is also delighted to be able to continue to count on the support ofMe Alexandra Paquette, Surprenant Magloé Paquette Avocats, who will act as outgoing president for the 2023-2024 term. The directors elected for the 2023-2024 term are as follows:

The new Board of Directors officially took office at the JBM Annual General Meeting on May 25.Me Joey Suri spoke as JBM president for the first time, affirming his optimism and belief that the new board members will advance the JBM's dual mission of supporting its members and improving access to justice.
" We're delighted to welcome the new members of our Board of Directors, who I'm sure will bring their know-how and energy to bear on our organization and its dual mission. I am very enthusiastic about taking over the reins of the Young Bar of Montreal to continue the work of my predecessors.s and work towards a JBM that is influential, dynamic towards its members and committed to improving access to justice. With heart and conviction, we will accomplish great things in the coming year! "

A first election since 2019
For the first time since 2019, the JBM held elections for its next Board of Directors. This year, 13 nominations were received for the 12 positions to be filled. " We're delighted to have been able to hold elections this year. Our members are more committed to our dual mission, and that fills us with joy! At our AGM yesterday, we could feel the desire of those present to advance the profession while making a significant and meaningful impact within their community. On behalf of the JBM, I'd like to congratulate all the nominees for their active participation during the past year. On behalf of the JBM, I would like to congratulate all the candidates for their active participation during the election campaign, and we welcome the members of the new 2023-2024 Board of Directors," said Élizabeth Ménard-Laberge, Executive Director of the JBM. The JBM would like to wish all its new Board members a successful start to their mandate, as they will ensure the continuity of the JBM's dual mission of defending and promoting the interests of its members and improving access to justice.

Founded in 1898, the JBM brings together over 6,000 members of the Montreal Bar who have been practicing for ten years or less. These young lawyers work in all areas of the law, making their mark professionally. They are the next generation of lawyers, both nationally and internationally.
