JBM awards two honorary trophies at its Annual General Meeting

29 May 2023 News

On May 25, the Young Bar Association of Montreal (hereinafter " JBM ") held its annual general meeting at the Auberge Saint-Gabriel. During the evening, the members of the Board of Directors presented the results of their last mandate, discussed important issues and elected the members of the next Board of Directors. The evening also provided an opportunity to highlight the exceptional contribution of two JBM lawyers. Stéphanie Beaulieu and Grégory Lancop, who were respectively named Honorary Member of the JBM and Volunteer of the Year 2022-2023.

Stéphanie Beaulieu held the position of Executive Director of the JBM for 5 years, raising the organization to new heights thanks to her thoroughness, enthusiasm and commitment to the legal community. She nurtured lasting relationships with various partners, and rallied JBM employees and the many boards of directors with which she collaborated. We are grateful for her exceptional contribution and the indelible mark she has left on our organization. We thank her for all the work she has undertaken and the many projects she has carried out. It's no surprise, then, that the JBM wanted to recognize her great contribution by awarding her the title of Honorary Member of the JBM, making her not only a life member, but also a lifelong ally!

As it does every year, the JBM recognizes the great involvement of a volunteer by awarding him or her the Volunteer of the Year prize. This year, the award went to Me Grégory Lancop . Mr. Lancop worked for several years as a public legal educator at Éducaloi, before joining Groupe Trivium as a corporate lawyer. At JBM, Me Lancop has been actively involved in the ExtraJudiciaire committee since December 2016. He has held the position of editor-in-chief of the ExtraJudiciaire magazine for the past year and has distinguished himself as a dedicated, assiduous and consistent volunteer throughout his involvement. The JBM thanks him for his invaluable contribution to the ExtraJudiciaire committee. He is definitely a model of commitment that deserves to be highlighted and celebrated.

The JBM would also like to acknowledge the involvement and warmly thank the three other volunteers who were finalists for the Volunteer of the Year title:

    • Me Sébastien Girard, LCM Avocats inc. for his involvement in the Training, Conventions & Gala and Sociocultural & Sports Activities Committees.
    • Me Jessie McKinnon, EssilorLuxottica, for her involvement in the Information Technology and Research & Legislation Committees.
    • Patrick Laverty-Lavoie , Robic, for his involvement in the Information Technology Committee.

Once again, congratulations to Me Stéphanie Beaulieu and Me Grégory Lancop for their exceptional contribution to JBM!
