Notice of election of members of the JBM Board of Directors

NOTICE OF ELECTION TO THE JBM BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The members of the Jeune Barreau de Montréal (JBM) are hereby notified that three separate ballots will be held from May 20, 2021, 7:01 a.m., to May 27, 2021, 4:30 p.m., inclusively, to elect candidates to the following positions (in brackets the number of seats available): President (1), Vice-President (1) and Director (12). A person may only stand for one position.

Notice of Annual General Meeting including agenda and notice of election

As per article 28 of the JBM General By-Laws,

• Any member, voting or not, of the JBM may submit his or her candidacy for the position ofdirector.
• Only a voting member may stand for election to the position of Vice-Chairman.
• Only a voting member who has already served a full term on the Board of Directors may be a candidate for the position of President. In the absence of such a candidate, only a voting member may be nominated for President.

A voting member of the JBM is any lawyer sworn in on or after May 1, 2011 and duly entered on the roll of the Quebec Bar, Montreal Section.

A non-voting member of the JBM is any member of the Quebec Bar who has been sworn in for no more than 10 years as of May 1, 2011, who is not a member of the Montreal Section, but who fulfills the membership formalities and pays the JBM annual dues by May 1, 2021.

Application forms are available on request from the General Manager(sbeaulieu@ajbm.qc.ca). They must be returned duly completed and signed by the candidate.e and ten other voting members of the JBM, to the attention of the Election Chairperson, between the 45th and 21st days before the close of the voting period, i.e. from April 12 to May 6, 2021, 5 p.m., at the following address

As of May 7, 2021, the list of candidates (if the number of valid nominations received exceeds the number of seats to be filled) or acclaimed members will be posted on the JBM website.e.s by acclamation, as the case may be, to the positions of Director, Vice President and President of the JBM.

In the first case, the election will take place by electronic ballot, using a secure and confidential system managed by a third party chosen by the Board of Directors.

Only voting members of the JBM in good standing at or before the closing time for voting will be entitled to vote in the election.
