40th Telephone Legal Clinic: The JBM continues to serve the public!
The Young Bar Association of Montreal (JBM) is putting itself at people's service for the 40th edition of the Clinique juridique téléphonique, to be held on April 22 and 23, between 9 am and 4 pm. This not-to-be-missed event enables Quebecers to receive free legal advice over the phone from lawyers and notaries. This free service is organized by the JBM, in partnership with the Quebec Bar and the CAIJ.
A new edition dedicated to accessibility to justice
By providing free legal advice, the telephone clinic fulfils one of the JBM's fundamental missions: accessibility to justice. Citizens can sometimes come up against highly complex legal issues. For this reason, it is important for them to have access to services that will enable them to find out about their rights, free of charge. The JBM's Telephone Legal Clinic is an effective way of helping citizens find answers to their legal concerns. The JBM is proud to join other existing initiatives to facilitate access to justice through its Clinique.
A unique opportunity to learn about your rights
The JBM has been offering its Clinique juridique téléphonique since 2009, with the support of over a hundred volunteer lawyers and the collaboration of the Jeune Barreau de Québec, the Jeune Barreau de Laval and the Canadian Association of Paralegals. Each edition represents a unique opportunity for citizens to obtain precise answers to their questions. Now in its 40th year, the Clinique juridique téléphonique continues its tradition of providing quality legal advice twice a year. The most frequently asked questions concern the family, good neighborliness, consumption of goods, work and estate management. The JBM invites the public not to hesitate to take advantage of this opportunity to obtain answers to their legal questions.
Call the JBM Telephone Legal Clinic to find out about your rights, obligations and options for preventing or resolving disputes. It's free and open to all!

About JBM
Founded in 1898, the JBM brings together lawyers practicing in Montreal for ten years or less, with over 6,000 members. This makes it one of the largest associations of young lawyers in the world, in terms of numbers for a single city. Its mission is twofold. On the one hand, it defends and promotes the interests of its members. On the other, it provides pro bono legal advice and information to various segments of the population, and organizes charitable activities. Overall, it aims to improve access to justice and contribute to the collective well-being. As such, in August 2021, the JBM was awarded the Lieutenant-Governor's Medal for Exceptional Merit, "in recognition of the remarkable dynamism demonstrated by its members in the ongoing pursuit of collective well-being".
