One third of Montreal's lawyers, some 6,000, have been practicing for ten years or less. Given their numbers and their historical involvement, young lawyers in Montreal must continue to ensure their representation on the Board of Directors of the Quebec Bar. The Bar of Montreal has adopted a resolution of principle underlining the importance it attaches to the presence of at least one young lawyer from Montreal on the Board of Directors of the Quebec Bar. For details, consult the Resolution adopted by the Council of the Bar of Montreal on November 12, 2014.
It is with their unique vision that young lawyers have helped improve practice conditions and access to justice across Quebec, inspiring reforms to the Barreau du Québec's programs and policies. That's why it's essential to ensure the presence of young lawyers from Montreal on the Quebec Bar's decision-making body.
